About Me

I didn't grow up in a woodshop. I didn't inherit a bench full of hand tools or a book of blueprints from Grandpa. What I did inherit was curiosity, stubbornness, and a lifelong habit of figuring things out the hard way. That's how The Sawdust Workshop came to life—one mistake, one splinter, and one small win at a time.

For most of my working life, I was in the business world, doing the things you're "supposed" to do. But I was tired of being strangled by a tie and working with people who only cared about themselves. The freedom of working with my hands beckoned me—helping people, building things, and creating a community where everyone belongs.

This site is for people like me—folks who didn't grow up with a router in one hand and a chisel in the other. People who Google more than they measure, who buy the wrong screws twice, and who celebrate a square cut like they just won the Super Bowl.

It's also for anyone tired of internet advice written by people who've clearly never built a damn thing. No hype. Just clear steps, honest lessons, and a few good tools you'll actually use.

These days, I split time between building, writing, and occasionally arguing with WordPress. I've got sawdust in my keyboard, too many browser tabs open, and a real desire to help people build something they're proud of—whether that's a bookshelf, a blog, or a little more confidence in themselves.

Come on in. Grab a cup of coffee. Pull up a stool and sit down at my workbench with me. You're in the right place.
